A FEW STEPS ON HOW TO MAKE A DIFERENCE AT THE STATE CAPITOL

Have you ever stopped to realize how lucky we are. We live in the Seat of Power for the State. There are tens of thousands of like-minded Conservatives living across our State who would love to live here due to their easy access to that seat of power. We have a responsibility to the rest of the state to be their voice to the state legislature that they are unable to provide due to the distance from Olympia. Have you ever wondered what Bills are up for debate or discussion within the myriad of State House and Senate Committees?

You can go here and see what’s on the schedule for the upcoming week: http://leg.wa.gov/ Then you can rally your people, prepare your testimony or plan your revolution. Once you find the date and your committee of interest, click on that committee that spikes your interest. Click on that Committee to see their agenda for that day.

If you cant make it to the House or Senate Committee Rooms, you can access the meeting through www.TVW.org.
Want to comment on a bill, 1st know the Bill number, then go here to start: https://app.leg.wa.gov/pbc/
Or Maybe, you want to show up and testify in front of the Committee? Research here to find out how to do it: http://leg.wa.gov/legisla…/Pages/ComingToTheLegislature.aspx

Only you can decide how you want to affect State Government, we hope these links will help get you started in the right direction. (19Feb17)

Learning about navigating the Legislature’s website, leg.wa.gov

IF you want to write to your Rep., and be more likely to have your email read, use this format:

Firstname.Lastname@leg.wa.gov

Add this number to your phone: 1 800-562-6000

It’s the Legislative Hotline phone Number that you can call to offer your opinion on different bills or issues.

Your call counts, along with your friends’ and neighbors’.

The website’s handy Write Your Legislator function? According to one State Rep, not likely to be read.

America is going to be so great again… if you participate

The Power of People

One of the most unique attributes of the American political system is the power that individuals, when they are organized together, can bring change to our local, state and federal government. Over the next 15 months, those who stand with the Republican Party and their beliefs will have a great opportunity to influence the voting outcomes from the smallest of elected position to the President of the United States. What is the best way to ensure defeat to the Democrats?

The Answer is Involvement: making your voice heard.

How to get involved? Become a precinct committee officer (PCO). It’s not hard, it’s not time consuming and it has great rewards: the power to influence change!

What is a PCO? Politics at the grassroots level. The power to influence your friends, family and neighbors on how they vote.

What is the time commitment? About 2 hours a month.

In Thurston County there are 280 precincts. Of the 280, less than half of the Republican PCO positions are filled (125). We need your help in growing our local party!

Our great country was founded on the belief that all people can have a voice on forming, contributing and maintaining a government “by the people, of the people and for the people”. Often each political party can become fractured by sub-interest groups. Labels are given to “tea party”, “liberty”, “mainstream” or “libertarian” Republicans. If we are not careful, these sub-interest groups can fracture the local party thereby taking our focus off our goal to defeat the Democrats.

Let’s use our Republican diversity of our sub-groups as a strength by working together, developing our individual talents to bring change in our community, state and nation. Much like a patchwork quilt, we are stronger when bound together with threads of basic conservative Republican beliefs — yet individual in our own rights.

In a recent Brightbart article regarding defeating the Democrats, they offered these easy steps to bring change:

1. To change things, we must change the laws.
2. To change the laws, we must change the people who make the laws.
3. To get elected, your candidate must be on the ballot.
4. To get on the November ballot you must win the Primary.
5. To win the Primary, you must get the support of people who make endorsements in the Primary, who reliably vote in the Primary, and who get out the vote of other supporters in the Primary. Those people are the Precinct Committee Officers.

We ask each of our current PCO’s to bring a friend along to the meetings we’ll be having in the next 15 months. By working together, forming strong ties, utilizing individual talents and keeping committed to action, we will bring change to Thurston County, Washington State, and the United States of America.
